2015

I decided for my third post, I would write about the two things I am excited for, for 2015. The thing I am most excited for is the new Star Wars movie. I have been a fan of the movies ever since Star Wars Episode 1 came out. Since then I have done everything from watch all their movies, watch all the cartoons (Yeah I know, I still watch cartoons!), and even read a lot of their books and comics. Many people did not like the newer movies but I loved them. I am not a very picky person, I honestly enjoy any movie, well mostly any movie. If you guys have not watch the trailer for it, I have provided the link to it on the bottom.

The next movie I am very excited for is Avenger: Age of Ultron. I would not consider the Avengers to be my favorite superheroes (I am more of an X-Men person) but I am still excited either way. I started being a fan of superheroes when I was very young. What got me hooked up was the X-Men tv show that first aired on 1992, the year I was born. It was not until I got a little older that I started reading superhero comics. Technology and me

Every year, science is progressing and so is technology. Now a days, everyone has some sort of technology. It is everywhere we go, no matter how much we try to avoid it. I personally am not really good with technology but I use a lot of it because it helps in my every day life. Since this is a technology course, I decided to write my second blog about the technology I use:

• Cell Phones: The only reason I have a phone is for emergencies. Other than that, I am barely never using it. I am not connected in any social media, so I don't tweet, instagram, or facebook. But if I am in a situation were I have nothing to do then I use my phone to play games and pass the time. 
• Laptops: The main reason why I got one is because of school. Every year, each teacher will ask us to write a paper and type it. In High School it was not really needed. English teachers will always take their students to the computer lab to use the computer and write out their papers. But in college, you are basically required to have one. Every class requires some sort of paper and you have to do it on your own. 
• Printers: Now a days everything is turned in via online. But in HS and lower grades, assignments are due in person. But printers can be used in many ways. We can print out assignments, notes and anything we want to have in hand.
• Game Consoles: If I had to choose my favorite piece of technology, it would be my Xbox. I am an avid gamer and love playing role playing games. I have played everything from Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Bioshock, Destiny, AC, Halo and etc. This is the only time when I am interacting with other people online, since I am not connected in any social media as I wrote before.
• Cameras/ GoPro: My brother has studied in photography, writing scripts and making videos. Every time we go camping or travel, we are always taking pictures of the landscape or making videos. My brother is really into photography, he takes every detail into consideration. My brother has been teaching me the different uses on taking pictures. 

About me

Hello you guys, I decided for my first blog post, I would write a little bit about myself. My name is Gabriela Alvarez but you guys can call me Gabby. I am a senior at the UofA, majoring in General Studies. I plan on graduating this winter and being the first first in my family to do so. I come from a Mexican family and a big one too. We love staying in touch with each other and are always getting together for any reason. Either it be someones birthday, anniversary, or a celebration of some sort, we always get together. From my whole family, I am the first one to even go to a University. I have cousins who have gone to community college but none have gone to a University or gotten their bachelors degree.

My biggest goal in life is to go to medical school and become a doctor. Since I speak and write fluently in Spanish, my options regarding medical school have widen. I am either attending medical school here or in Mexico. Most of my family is there, and it would be nice to see them and spend some time with them, especially my grandparents. Another reason why I am considering Mexico is that one of my dreams is to built a free clinic in Mexico and help those who are in real need. But who knows, in half a year I might have different thoughts.
